Free Tax Assistance (VITA)
The IRC in Utah offers free tax preparation services through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
VITA is an IRS‑certified, community‑based program that helps individuals and families file accurate tax returns and access the tax credits they qualify for—at no cost.
Services are available to anyone in the community who meets the income guidelines.
Who Can Receive Free Tax Help?
You may qualify for VITA services if:
Your household income is $75,000 or less
You need help filing your federal tax return
You want support understanding tax credits and refunds
VITA services are available regardless of background or citizenship status. ITIN filers are welcome.
When & Where Services Are Available
Tax season: Late January through April 15
Appointments: Available in person at the IRC Utah office and virtually, depending on availability
Appointment slots fill quickly during tax season, so we encourage early scheduling.
