Market Access

Market access support helps small businesses find opportunities to sell their products or services, reach new customers, and increase visibility.

At the IRC in Utah, the Economic Empowerment team supports entrepreneurs by connecting them to sales opportunities, community partners, and marketing tools that help businesses grow—both in‑person and online.

Our goal is to help small businesses build confidence, prepare for markets, and reach wider audiences at a pace that makes sense for each business.

How We Support Market Access

Market access services may include the following, depending on availability and business readiness:

Pop‑Up Shop Opportunities

Client businesses may have the opportunity to sell their products at temporary pop‑up events hosted by local coffee shops, cafés, or other community partners. These low‑cost or free opportunities allow entrepreneurs to gain sales experience, test products, and build customer relationships.

Art Shows & Creative Markets

Entrepreneurs specializing in artistic or creative work may be connected to local art shows, markets, or exhibitions when opportunities arise. We help businesses understand expectations and prepare to participate.

Workshops & Business Readiness

Market access is more than selling—it’s about being prepared. Clients may participate in workshops covering topics such as:

  • Pricing and cost analysis

  • Business taxes and licensing

  • Marketing and branding

  • Market readiness and customer engagement

  • General business operations

IRC‑Hosted & Seasonal Events

The IRC hosts and partners on select events throughout the year that provide sales and exposure opportunities, including:

  • Holiday Gift Basket sales, featuring products made by client businesses (all sales go directly to the makers)

  • New American Dream Lab (NADL), a pitch‑style competition held seasonally to support entrepreneurs with grant funding and visibility

Online Presence & Digital Marketing

An online presence can be essential to business growth. We offer support with:

  • Social media education and strategy

  • Basic website guidance

  • Understanding how to maintain an online presence over time

Important to Know

Market access opportunities vary based on:

  • Business type

  • Readiness and capacity

  • Community partner availability
